BRIDGEPORT, Texas – One teenage girl is dead and another was injured after an awning fell on them outside a north Texas gym.
The concrete-and-aluminum awning apparently collapsed Tuesday outside the Club Barbells Gym in Bridgeport, Dallas television station KTVT reported.
Bridgeport police spokeswoman Amber Fogelman tells the station that the injured girl was airlifted to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.
Fogelman also tells Dallas television station KDFW that the teens were walking along a sidewalk when the awning collapsed.
The victims' names haven't been released.
Bridgeport is about 45 miles northwest of Fort Worth.
