Now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine:

Dishonorable Mention?

An Israeli official is linking President Obama's actions with anti-Semitism. Science and Technology Minister Daniel Hershkowitz is especially critical of the president's decision to award the Medal of Freedom to former U.N. Human Rights Commissioner Mary Robinson.

Hershkowitz tells the Jerusalem Post: "I am disappointed in Obama's policies. Some of the steps he has taken, like giving a medal to Mary Robinson, are borderline anti-Semitic... Relations with the U.S. are important, but relations must go both ways."

There is also said to be growing Israeli dissatisfaction with the president's chief of staff. Rahm Emanuel is an observant Jew with deep ties to Israel. He was initially seen as a supportive force inside the White House. But a Jerusalem-based pollster tells Politico that American pressure on Israel to stop building any new settlements has led Israelis to think Emanuel is: "Giving Obama his Kosher stamp of approval to be tough on Israel, when they thought he was going to be there to explain our position."

Welcoming Committee

When President Obama arrives later this month for his family's vacation on Martha's Vineyard, he will be greeted by a familiar face to the last presidential vacation spot in Crawford, Texas: Cindy Sheehan. The anti-war protester received considerable media coverage while she camped outside of George W. Bush's ranch to protest the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

We'll wait and see how much attention Sheehan receives protesting Mr. Obama's policies in the Vineyard.

A Capitol Idea?

And this year's edition of the TV show "Dancing With the Stars " will have an inside-the-Beltway connection. Former Republican House Majority Leader Tom "the hammer" DeLay is part of the cast and has been working out with a personal trainer to get ready.

Democratic Congressman Lloyd Doggett, not a fan of DeLay's political moves, said of the new gig, "You can be sure he won't be afraid to step on a few toes. His appearance is understandable; since Bush and Cheney left town, he hasn't had much fun."

Political commentator and comedian Dennis Miller says of DeLay: "As a former politician — he'll no doubt be best at the tap dance, not as good as Larry Craig mind you but solid nonetheless. Oh well, as I believe Cole Porter once said 'it's delightful, it's delicious, it's Delay.'"
