The Central High football team is fighting a tough opponent before the season even begins.

The school says 20 football players, about one-fifth of the team, are either sick or recovering from the flu.

With so many players out sick, the coach says the football field reminds him of Hurricane Gustav.

Sharon Ball, the school nurse, says although they seem to be first to deal with the flu, she thinks all schools will have trouble with it.

Central High School is scheduled to reopen on Monday. School officials wiped down the school and even fogged the team locker room as safety precautions.
