State experts will be drawing water samples from wells in a central Palm Beach County community where residents have complained about an unusually high number of brain cancer cases.
Officials with the state Department of Environmental Protection were set to take their first samples on Tuesday in The Acreage.
The state Department of Health and the county also are investigating the potential cancer cluster.
U.S. Senator Bill Nelson met with residents last month to discuss concerns with about 20 families from the area. He said he has asked the Environmental Protection Agency and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to coordinate with the state to investigate.
