A cell phone lost at sea for four days was found, returned to its owner — and still works.

Lifeguard Lin Huan-chuan told Taiwan's United Daily News Friday that he made the surprising discovery earlier this week in Longdong Bay Park, off the Taiwan port city of Keelung.

The phone was in mint condition when it washed ashore last Monday, 23 miles from where it was lost.

Lin said he recharged the battery and then found the owner, Yu Hsin-leh of Taipei, by contacting his wife — whose number was in the phone.

Yu lost the phone while he was snorkeling July 24, the newspaper said.

"The owner was extremely surprised as he figured he had lost it for good," Lin told the United Daily News.
