NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. – A woman escaped serious injury when her car plunged about 20 feet onto train tracks in suburban New York.
The 72-year-old driver lost control after she was hit by another car in New Rochelle.
She crashed down a stone wall and landed about 10 feet behind a train. Police cut her out of her seat belt.
The woman was treated for cuts from broken glass.
Westchester County Legislator Jim Maisano was on the platform Monday afternoon. He says onlookers gasped — and then ran to get a closer look.
He called the scene "surreal."
