A woman who police said performed cosmetic procedures that caused critically injuries on two women pleaded guilty to two counts of practicing medicine without a license, MyTampaBay.com reported.
Sharhonda Lindsay, 33, was sentenced to four years’ probation and will have to pay restitution to her victims.
Five months ago, Andrea Lee, 30, and Zakiya Teagle, 34, received Hydrogel injections from Lindsay at a private home in the community of Town ‘N Country to enhance their rear ends. The women ended up in the hospital, Lee with total kidney failure and Teagle in critical condition.
"It almost is bootleg cosmetology here," said sheriff's office spokesman J.D. Callaway in February. "These two victims knew of this woman, at least one of them did. They knew that she was known to have given injections to other women to enhance the buttocks area."
Deputies said Lee paid $500 for the illegal butt-enhancing shots and Teagle paid $250 for 20 shots.
Lindsay turned herself in to authorities on Feb. 11 when an arrest warrant was issued.
