Police say an explosion at a southeast Ohio explosives manufacturing plant injured four people.

Sgt. Carolyn Brown, of the Vinton County Sheriff's Office, says three people are being taken to hospitals from the Austin Powder Co. She says a fourth person suffered minor injuries in the blast, which happened at about 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.

She is unaware what caused the explosion at the plant just east of McArthur.

Cleveland-based Austin Powder manufactures industrial explosives and accessories and performs blasting services.

Brown says the identities of the injured are not available.
