Austrian authorities say they're investigating a Vienna businessman and a Korean national for alleged sales of yachts and other luxury goods to North Korea.

Gerhard Jarosch of the public prosecutor's office says the pair — who have not been identified — have been the focus of an Austrian probe since March. Jarosch says investigators are trying to determine if the suspects broke foreign trade laws.

International sanctions outlaw trade with North Korea's reclusive communist regime.

Friday's disclosure came a day after Italian authorities said they blocked a nearly euro13 $18 million sale of two luxury yachts believed to have been bound for North Korea.

Italy said an Austrian company ordered the vessels from Italian boatmaker Azimut-Benetti.
