Allegheny County police say a 10-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was accidentally shot by another 10-year-old boy in the Pittsburgh suburb of Mount Oliver.
Police say the shotgun used in the incident had been hidden in the basement of the home where the boys were staying.
A resident told police she brought the boys into her home after a man threatened a neighbor with a shotgun on Saturday night. The man apparently hid the gun when police were called, and the boys found it shortly before the boy was shot about 12:15 a.m. Sunday.
Police are not releasing the names of either child and aren't saying whether the gun's owner faces charges.
