OCEAN ISLE BEACH, N.C. – Several hundred swimmers gathered at a North Carolina resort this weekend to let it all hang out.
Multiple media outlets reported that 249 people showed up at Whispering Pines Nudist Resort and Campground near Ocean Isle Beach for a nationwide simultaneous skinny dip. There was no record for skinny dipping, so the number set Saturday is expected to be a Guinness World Record once all the numbers are tallied.
The American Association for Nude Recreation hosted the event nationwide.
The North Carolina nudist resort is around 40 miles northeast of Myrtle Beach, a popular tourist destination in South Carolina.
