"Heroes" starlet Hayden Panettiere is stalked by paparazzi, harassed by fans, and punched in the face by mean girls. It's really, really hard to be so rich and beautiful!
In the latest issue of Details magazine, Panettiere opens up about life as a child actress. She recalls the "mean girls" in middle school, "I was tortured, emotionally tortured by these girls. Every time I came back from filming, it would be me trying to find my way back into the clique. And they weren’t having it."

Despite the peer pressure, she does not regret being different. "It wasn’t like I suddenly started feeling different. I always knew that I was. I never felt I missed out – in fact, it was like, ‘Oh, thank God I’m not that.'"
The August issue of Details hits newsstands in New York and Los Angeles on July 7 and nationally on July 14.
