PIERSON, Fla. – A central Florida man is recovering after being bitten by a poisonous rattlesnake.
Authorities said the 34-year-old man was the third victim of a poisonous snake bite reported in a week in the area. He was rushed to a Daytona Beach hospital Tuesday after a single bite to the lower left calf in Pierson. Details of the incident were unclear.
The victim's name has not been released. Authorities said he is expected to recover.
Fire rescue officials said two other men reported being bitten by a rattlesnake in the last week in central Florida. Both men recovered.
