A woman living in the Australian outback has given birth to a hearty 13.8-pound newborn named Chelsea Rose Mackay.
The big bundle of joy was the largest baby ever born at Townsville Hospital.
Born last Thursday, Chelsea is about twice the size of an average baby at almost 14 pounds and 21.6 inches long. She is almost 5-and-a-half times the size of her little newborn friend, Melinda Burns.
Melinda was born prematurely weighing less than 2 pounds, but is now a month old and weighs 2.6 pounds.
"I knew she was going to be a bit bigger because my stomach was massive," mom Danielle Mackay said.
"I had to have a Caesarean because the doctors were afraid she wouldn't fit through my pelvic bones," she added.
