"This Is It."
That was the eerie backdrop onstage for Michael Jackson's final performance, a June 23rd rehearsal for his upcoming "This Is It" tour.
In photos from the rehearsal just released, the 50-year-old singer appears fit, looking no different than he did in any of the performances that help make the singer the King of Pop.

"When he hit the stage at rehearsal, I was thrilled that the magical Michael Jackson was back," the photographer who took Jackson's final performance photos, Kevin Mazur, told the New York Post. "I felt the same adrenaline rush as when I photographed him the first time moonwalking."
With a phalanx of backup dancers, massive set, and stage outfits reminiscent of his signature look of old, Jackson appeared ready to reclaim his throne.
The singer performed one grueling dance routine after another, reprising all of the dance moves that made him famous.
And his Tuesday performance was no anomaly. Jackson also completed a video to promote the tour called the "Dome Project," for which he also performed, just three weeks ago.
Jackson died Thursday of apparent heart failure. The official coroner's report determining the official cause of death is still pending.
