Services have been set for a 3-year-old southern Illinois boy who authorities say was attacked and killed over the weekend by at least one of his family's dogs.

Williamson County authorities say Gabrial Mandrell was attacked Saturday night at the family's home near Johnston City. He was pronounced dead at a hospital a short time later.

Investigators say the boy pushed out the screen in a bedroom window and crawled outside before being attacked by a dog while the family thought he was sleeping.

The family's three mixed-breed dogs are being held by animal control officials.

A memorial service is scheduled for 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murman & Wilson Funeral Home in Johnston City, after two hours of visitation.
