Health officials say a 48-year-old Pennsylvania woman who died at an upstate New York hospital had swine flu.
Orange County officials say the woman had respiratory distress and other medical problems besides the flu and had been sick for a week before she sought treatment. According to hospital spokeswoman Deborah Marshall, the Pennsylvania woman died Saturday at Bon Secours Community Hospital in Port Jervis.
New York laboratory tests confirmed Monday that she had swine flu.
Pennsylvania Department of Health spokeswoman Stacy Kriedeman says the woman was a Pike County resident. The woman is the third Pennsylvania resident to die from swine flu.
The woman's name wasn't being released.
