SALT LAKE CITY – A sixth person in Utah has died of swine flu-related illness.
Ilene Risk, an epidemiologist with the Salt Lake Valley Health Department, says tests confirmed Tuesday the swine flu-related death of a man from Salt Lake County who died Friday.
The news follows the death of an adult woman from Salt Lake County who died Monday.
Pam Davenport, a county health spokeswoman, says the woman had pre-existing underlying health conditions that might have contributed to her death. She declined to offer specifics on the case.
Two other Utah residents died from swine flu-related illness over the weekend.
All six who have died in Utah have been from Salt Lake County.
