Cop Charged After 3 Die in Car Crash in Jamaica

Jamaican authorities say a police officer has been charged with dangerous driving after three people died in a car crash.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force says 25-year-old Sheldon Brown was passing a line of cars in Kingston when he hit an oncoming car. Two older women in the other car and a police officer in Brown's car died in the head-on collision. Brown was off duty when the accident occurred.

Brown is scheduled to appear in court next month and was ordered to surrender his passport. The crash occurred in January but he was charged June 9 after authorities wrapped up their investigation.

He could face more than 10 years in prison.
