A man accused of shooting a Wesleyan University student to death last month has pleaded not guilty to murder and two new charges added by Connecticut authorities.
Twenty-nine-year-old Stephen Morgan appeared in Middletown Superior Court Tuesday afternoon. He's accused of the May 6 killing of Johanna Justin-Jinich, of Timnath, Colo., in a bookstore cafe near the Middletown campus.

Morgan was initially charged with murder. Prosecutors added new charges of intimidation based on bigotry or bias and carrying a pistol without a permit. He waived his right to a preliminary hearing to contest the evidence Tuesday.
Middletown police say they found writings by Morgan threatening to kill Justin-Jinich and other Jewish students at Wesleyan.
