Two teens on their way home from a store helped rescue two men whose boat capsized on a flooded North Carolina river.
The teens stopped Friday night to see how high the Yadkin River was after recent rain and heard two men yelling for help after the boat overturned.
WXII-TV reported that Nathan McDonald and Robert Fields called 911 and helped rescuers find the tree where the men took refuge along the flooded Yadkin County riverbank.
Fields says one man was clinging to the tree trunk and their other man was clinging to his friend as the high water rushed around them.
Forbush Fire Chief Ricky Doub says the men couldn't have held on much longer because they were getting cold. It took an hour to rescue them.
