A hospital has apologized for the death of a 29-year-old Australian woman who bled to death after undergoing a Caesarean section, the Australian Associated Press reported.

Rebecca Murray delivered her third child at Bathurst Base Hospital, but she soon began hemorrhaging and was rushed to Nepean Hospital in Sydney.

Assisting coroner Gail Furness said Murray’s condition should have been treatable.

Meanwhile, a lawyer for the New South Wales Area Health Service, which includes the hospital who treated Murray, offered Murray’s husband and three children an apology.

"The Greater Western Health Service, Bathurst Base Hospital and their staff are not indifferent to your grief and the tragic loss,'' the lawyer said.
