Police say a man entered a Cincinnati home with a shotgun and killed his wife and himself, scaring three of their children so much they ran to a neighbor's house and left their toddler sister behind.

The neighbor called police Saturday afternoon to report the children had said their father had shot their mother in the head.

SWAT team officers entered the single-family home and found the parents dead and the 2-year-old girl unharmed. The man was in an upstairs bedroom of the two-story house.

There are seven children in the family, but only four were home.

Police Assistant Chief Vince Demasi says there's no motive for what he calls "a very tragic and unfortunate situation."

Investigators haven't released the identities of the victims.
