A Yonkers man that police say was high on angel dust has been charged with assault after allegedly biting an officer's knee.

Mount Vernon police say they spotted the 42-year-old man fighting another man Thursday night near an elementary school. They say an officer tried to pull a man off the suspect, and the officer was bitten.

Police say the suspect then pounded his head on the ground and attacked a nurse and an officer when he was taken to a hospital.

Police Commissioner David Chong says the suspect was "going bananas."

The suspect was finally subdued and charged with second-degree assault, a felony.
