A Beverly man charged with trying hire a hit man to kill his 9-year-old daughter, estranged wife and mother-in-law could face longer than the 12 years behind bars he had agreed to with prosecutors after declining to withdraw his guilty plea.
John Orlowski pleaded guilty last year and reached an agreement with prosecutors for a 12-year sentence.
A federal judge last month said the agreed upon sentence was too lenient and refused to accept the deal.
That gave the 50-year-old Orlowski the option of withdrawing his plea and going to trial.
The Salem News reports that according to a filing on Monday, Orlowski will face sentencing without the agreement.
Prosecutors say Orlowski offered $2,000 in 2007 to a former gang member he met jail to kill his family.
