The bodies of two women who poisoned themselves in a possible suicide pact at a north London hotel were reportedly found after the hotel's management found a note apologizing for the incident.

The women, who have not yet been identified, were found by the Costello Palace Hotel’s owner after he discovered the note under the door that apologized for the "inconvenience" and warned that about the "spoon and glass" they had used to take an unknown chemical, the U.K.’s Daily Mail newspaper reported.

Police told the paper that they believed the women — one in her 30s and the other in her 50s — killed themselves, but they were not sure why.

The hotel, which was fully booked, had to be evacuated while emergency crews worked at the scene.
