A Washington woman has been charged after allegedly calling in a fake bomb threat to a casino in order to keep her husband from gambling.
Tamara Gillespie, 43, of Enumclaw, Wash., was charged with making a bomb threat in superior court Thursday, the Seattle Times reported.
Her husband, Brian Gillespie, had allegedly taken money the couple had been saving for a new car and was driving to the Muckleshoot Casino to gamble, the Times reported.
According to court documents, a casino worker answered the main telephone line at around 1 a.m. on Feb. 21 and a woman said her husband was on his way with an ammonia and fertilizer bomb to take revenge against the casino because he had lost money.
The casino notified police in Auburn, Wash., but neither bomb nor bomber materialized, the Times reported.
Prosecutors said Gillespie made the call, the Times reported.
Reached by the Times on her cell phone, however, Gillespie denied the accusation.
"That's just ludicrous," she said. "That whole thing is just ridiculous."
Prosecutors say Gillespie, also known as Tamara Lapenckas, has been arrested at the casino for trespassing, assault and resisting arrest, the Times reported. She also been convicted for drugs, drunk driving and defrauding a public utility.
