Redmond O'Neal: Farrah Fawcett Weighs Just 86 Pounds

Redmond O'Neal told a judge in a Los Angeles court Friday that his ailing mother Farrah Fawcett is down to just 86 pounds.

O'Neal, 24, made the announcement when he asked for leniency in sentencing for a violation of his parole stemming from drug charges, according to RadarOnline.com.

He told the judge, "I want to be there for my mom. My mom only weighs 86 pounds right now and I'm sorry your honor."

If O'Neal's statement about his mother's weight is true, it could be a very bad sign, says FOX News contributor, Dr. Marc Siegel.

"Accompanied with anorexia and weight loss, this [could] possibly indicate further spread of the cancer," Siegel told FOXNews.com. The anorexia could also be a side effect from her chemotherapy, he said, which may be causing her to vomit.

After a week-long stay, Fawcett was released from the hospital last Thursday, where she was being treated for conditions related to her anal cancer, which had reportedly spread to her liver.

The 62-year-old "Charlie's Angels" star was diagnosed with anal cancer in 2006. She was declared in remission on Feb. 2, 2007, but three months later, scans showed not only had it recurred, it metastasized to her liver, according to reports.

Fawcett just returned from Germany where she underwent treatment to address the cancer's spread, he said. In the hospital Fawcett underwent what her doctor, cancer specialist Lawrence Piro, told FOX News was a "minor procedure" that "led to a small amount of bleeding into a muscle in her abdominal."

The announcement capped a brutal weekend for the actress that also saw her son Redmond O'Neal arrested on drug charges.

O'Neal, 24, was arrested after behaving erratically in a jail parking lot. He was charged with possession of a controlled substance when he and some friends tried to visit an incarcerated companion.

On Friday, the judge ordered O'Neal to remain in custody until April 30, when he will be sentenced.
