The University of Miami has been named the nation’s top party school — at least by Playboy magazine’s standards.
Colleges were judged on their campus life, sports and sex, Reuters reported.
Yet another factor to determine the ranking was called "bikini," which was a combination of ratings of the weather at the school, its guy-to-girl ratio and its cheerleaders.
Academics, or "brains" in Playboy terms, also came into consideration.
Schools were evaluated based on grade point averages, freshman retention and Princeton academic reviews, according to Reuters.
The colleges' bars and party scenes weren't taken into account.
"In order to make the list, you had to be in a school where fun happens, so we threw that out and went to other criteria," Playboy Assistant Editor Rocky Rakovic told Reuters.
Rakovic said it was too difficult to compare college bar scenes, mainly because of the diversity from campus to campus.
Playboy began occasionally ranking colleges 20 years ago, but would now like to make the party college list an annual feature.
The full list is in the magazine’s May issue and on the Internet at www.playboy.com/partyschools09.
