A San Diego-based Navy man is accused of shooting and killing a fellow sailor as they played a war video game.

Authorities said Thursday that 25-year-old Clinton Echols was arrested on suspicion of murder after they found Luis Urbina's body in a San Carlos apartment.

Acting Lt. Bryan Pendleton says detectives determined that Echols pointed the gun at Urbina and it went off as they played the video game.

Pendleton says Echols called police around 3 p.m. Wednesday. He says the sailor did not immediately report the shooting and that the 20-year-old Urbina could not be saved by the time help arrived.

Pendleton says Echols was arrested later that night after being questioned.

The sailors were stationed on the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan.
