LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Police say an officer was wounded in a shooting after responding to a domestic disturbance.
Louisville Metro Police Chief Robert White says the officer was shot twice in leg with her own weapon after an altercation with a suspect.
White said three other people including the suspect were shot, but none suffered life-threatening injuries.
White says when the officer arrived at the scene, a naked man came out of the house and refused to obey her commands.
White said the officer tried unsuccessfully to use a Taser, then fired her gun. The chief said a struggle ensued and the man got the officer's weapon and shot her.
White said the suspect's girlfriend and a neighbor were also shot.
Police spokesman Alicia Smiley says the officer is in good condition.
