Prosecutors say two bodies were hung from an overpass in a Mexican Pacific coast city as an apparent warning to rival drug traffickers, and that one corpse fell and was run over repeatedly.
The Michoacan state attorney general's office says the bodies were hung from the bridge Thursday morning in the port city of Lazaro Cardenas.
One victim had been repeatedly shot, according to a statement from the attorney general's office. Messages were taped to the bound bodies, threatening more violence against a rival drug gang.
Mexico's drug violence has claimed nearly 9,000 lives since 2006.
Last year a body was hung from an overpass in Ciudad Juarez, across from El Paso, Texas.
