A German court has dismissed charges against a German-Iranian dual national accused of spying for Iran and procuring parts that could be used for weapons.
The Munich regional court said in a statement Monday that materials obtained by the 52-year-old man — identified only as Saeed Sadeghi E. — could not be used to produce weapons and that he did not collect them for that purpose. The court added that Sadeghi E. did not appear to be working as a spy.
He was arrested Nov. 6, 2006, in his home near Duesseldorf, held in custody and released Feb. 22, 2007.
