Report: Actor Josh Hartnett Hospitalized for Mysterious Stomach Ailment

Actor Josh Hartnett was taken to Cedars-Sinai hospital early Monday for serious abdominal pain, according to a report from

The actor, 30, was reportedly in “excruciating pain” due to gastrointestinal issues. Sources told the gossip site that the “30 Days of Night” star may have picked up a stomach virus while shooting a film overseas.

His publicist Susan Patricola says Hartnett had a flare-up of a gastrointestinal issue that affected him while he was starring in an onstage production of "Rain Man" in London last year.

She says in a statement that he "is under observation but is resting comfortably."

The actor reportedly called 911 at about 12:53 a.m. and was picked up at about 2 a.m. by an ambulance that transported him to the hospital.

He is scheduled to see a specialist today.
