ARUSHA, Tanzania – An official says a train crash in central Tanzania has killed at least 15 people and other bodies may be trapped inside the wreckage.
William Lukuvi says a stationary passenger train was hit by a cargo train in the town of Dodoma at around midday Sunday. Lukuvi is the town's regional commissioner.
Lukuvi says the track has been shut down and cranes have been ordered to move the wreckage and retrieve bodies that are still trapped inside. He says the death toll may rise.
He says wounded passengers have been taken to a hospital and an investigation has begun into the crash.
