Federal agents in San Diego have recovered about $40,000 that was tossed out of the truck of two suspected marijuana dealers who led police on a freeway chase, but they believe they're missing roughly $185,000.
Now they want motorists who stopped to pick up the cash to turn it in.
Drug Enforcement Administration spokeswoman Eileen Zeidler said Tuesday that the money is evidence of a crime.
Court records say the chase started last Thursday after two members of a drug smuggling ring met at a shopping mall parking lot to buy 500 pounds of pot worth $225,000 from an undercover DEA agent posing as a seller.
