Yellow Snow? Supermarket Employee Finds $1.9M in Cocaine in Banana Crate

A German supermarket employee has found a stash of cocaine worth $1.9 million hidden inside a crate of bananas.

Bavarian Office of Criminal Investigation spokesman Ludwig Waldinger says the worker found the drugs weighing nearly 62 pounds inside yellow bags and hidden beneath a thin layer of bananas.

Waldinger says that the shipment came from Colombia via the Belgian city of Antwerp and was found at a store in the southern German town of Illertissen.

He said Friday that it was unclear if criminals had planned to intercept the package at some point on the journey to Germany, or if the consignment had been stowed in the wrong box.
