Sudan's president tells supporters in Darfur that no international court nor the U.N. Security Council can touch even "an eyelash" on him in defiance of an international warrant for his arrest.
Speaking to thousands at a rally Wednesday in the southern Darfur town of Nyala, Omar al-Bashir denounced the West for allegedly trying to split Darfur from the rest of the country and for seeking to "create chaos in Sudan."
He spoke from a truck to chanting supporters dressed in traditional white robes and turbans, occasionally waving his cane.
This is al-Bashir's second visit to Darfur since the International Criminal Court issued a warrant for his arrest on March 4 on charges of war crimes in Darfur.
