GRETA VAN SUSTEREN, FOX NEWS HOST: Who wouldn't want to go backstage at a Motley Crue concert? That's where you're going right now.

Moments ago Nikki Sixx went "On the Record" at Madison Square Garden.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

VAN SUSTEREN: So, Nikki, is this Cruefest?

NIKKI SIXX, BASS GUITAR PLAYER, MOTLEY CRUE: This is not Cruefest yes. Cruefest starts in July. It will be our second one. And this is the end of the Saints of Los Angeles tour ending here, well actually, we're ending in Maine. But we feel like this is the grand finale at the Garden.

VAN SUSTEREN: We spoke last, when? Six months ago? Is that right?

SIXX: Yes.

VAN SUSTEREN: And at the time, the album, the CD, was doing unbelievably well.

SIXX: Yes.

VAN SUSTEREN: The book was doing well.

SIXX: Yes.

VAN SUSTEREN: So things are going pretty well for you.

SIXX: It really is. There's a recession. Albums sales are down. People aren't buying books, they're not buying merchandise, they're not going to concerts.

I don't see it. We believe that if you give real quality, you really care about what you're doing, people, they're looking for something.

VAN SUSTEREN: So the economy is not affecting your business?

SIXX: People say it is. They just cancelled Ozzfest this year. And people were asking us, and we're going out with our second Cruefest.

But we're not seeing the numbers be affected, but we're also doing it a little different. We don't have three stages. We have one stage. We might be adding a second stage.

We really work on the numbers so it works right. We are just not throwing good money after bad money. We are really trying to make it right so we keep the ticket prices down.

And it is a lot of work, it's a lot of responsibility for four guys who didn't go to high school.

VAN SUSTEREN: This is your green room, makeup room? Can you show me around?

SIXX: This is my humble abode.

You know, you would think it is a lot better. You can see that I have a scarf fetish. I have a few scarves here. If you want to borrow one tonight--

VAN SUSTEREN: I may have to.

And this is all your makeup?

SIXX: Yes. It is all black.

VAN SUSTEREN: It's all black, and your clothes. How do you decide what to wear at night?

SIXX: You kind of get into a little routine.

Don't pull those boots up. They have not been washed in a long time.

VAN SUSTEREN: Look at these. Do you do boots yet ...

SIXX: No. but you know what's really amazing-

VAN SUSTEREN: Look at these.

SIXX: Look at those things.

VAN SUSTEREN: You need a forklift to life them.

SIXX: Here, turn it sideways.

VAN SUSTEREN: You need a forklift to life them, though.

SIXX: I know. That's the problem. So, do you want to take a walk?

VAN SUSTEREN: Yes, let's take a walk. Show me around.

Do you know any of these people up here? We just passed Eric Clapton.

SIXX: That's me.

VAN SUSTEREN: Have you had rehearsals for today?

SIXX: No.

VAN SUSTEREN: Do you?

SIXX: No.

VAN SUSTEREN: You just go out and let her rip?

SIXX: Well, we have been playing-

VAN SUSTEREN: Forever-25 years.

SIXX: We don't have dancers, we don't have choreography. It's really just four guys playing our music.

VAN SUSTEREN: How many people travel with your entourage who put all this stuff together and carry it and move it to the next venue?

SIXX: Seventy.

VAN SUSTEREN: So you do pay a lot of attention. If you're paying attention to the gas, the fuel, you're actually paying really close attention to this.

SIXX: Yes. And the thing is, with a Motley Crue, what our fans know is that we try to keep the ticket prices down and we try to keep the pyro and the volume up.

So, a lot of times, we do not put as much money in our pocket as people would think, because we choose to invest in our career. We choose to invest in doing this -- we have been doing this for 27 years. It must work.

We always give back. We always give as much as we can to the show. We're always 150 percent with our energy and our time. And people keep coming.
