Mariska Hargitay continues to suffer from a mysterious lung ailment.
Her rep confirmed to USMagazine.com on Wednesday that the "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" actress was back in the hospital for a third time "after experiencing some discomfort relating to her earlier lung condition. She is undergoing routine tests and expects to be feeling better soon."
Dr. Manny Alvarez, managing editor of health for FOXNews.com, said an injury to the lung may cause adhesions to form on the outer cover of the lung or pleura.
This is Hargitay's third visit to the hospital since just December for what has been termed a pneumothorax.
"These adhesions sometimes can rip due to physical activity and create a spontaneous pneumothorax," said Alvarez.
Her rep told USMagazine.com that "production will not be affected."
Hargitay, 45, received a Golden Globe nomination for her role as Detective Olivia Benson, but chose not to attend the festivities.
