Firefighters honored a brave 4-year-old with a teddy bear and a ride in a fire truck after the boy called 9-1-1 when his mother suffered a seizure, KDVR reports.

T.J. Roller called the emergency hotline moments after his mother fell to the floor. The boy's voice is steady and calm in a recording of the call released by fire officials.

"My mommy's sick," T.J. told Adams County Communications specialist Jason Vigil. "Can you come over here?"

After retrieving the boy's address from the standard telephone line, Vigil responded, "Yeah, I'm going to send my friends over there to help you, okay? But don't hang up on me, okay?"

T.J.'s mother, Jennifer, said she was proud of her son. "I was just surprised at that time, that he would remember to call," she said.
