Police have arrested a man in the stabbing of two people outside a New York City nightclub, but investigators are still looking for whoever stabbed three other people outside the same club about a half-hour later.

Police say all five victims are in stable condition after the stabbings early Saturday outside the Deco club in lower Manhattan.

Twenty-one-year-old Mario Olmedo was arrested on assault and weapons possession charges after police said he slashed a 23-year-old man in the head and a 21-year-old woman in the neck.

A woman and two men were stabbed in the later incident.

Olmedo's home telephone number isn't in service, and police weren't certain whether he has a lawyer.

A call and e-mails to the nightclub weren't immediately returned Saturday.
