ARVADA, Colo. – A 15-year-old student at Ralston Valley High School in Arvada has died of injuries suffered when he was run over by a car that he'd been holding onto while skateboarding.
The accident happened just before 1 p.m. Wednesday on a street near the school. Arvada Police Department spokeswoman Susan Medina says the boy died early Thursday.
His name was not immediately released pending notification of family members.
Authorities say the teen was holding onto the driver's side door of a Ford Mustang as its 16-year-old driver headed west on 85th Avenue. It's not clear why or how he let go of the door before being struck.
Medina says the Mustang driver was taken to the police department for questioning.
It's not known what, if any, charges that teen may face.
