Cops: Angry Passenger Steered Tour Bus Into Median

SAN DIEGO — A tour bus passenger has been arrested in San Diego County after authorities say he grabbed the wheel and steered into a freeway divider before other passengers tackled him.

The 25-year-old man was taken into custody at around 9 p.m. Friday in the Del Mar area.

CHP Sgt. Terry Brollini says the bus was on Interstate 5, heading from Tijuana to Los Angeles, when the man told the driver he wanted to get off and grabbed the wheel.

The bus scraped the center divider before the driver managed to brake.

Brollini says about 45 people were on the bus. Three tackled the disruptive man and held him until CHP officers arrived.

Nobody was injured and the bus continued on after a 45-minute delay.
