A legislative committee has once again passed a bill allowing concealed handguns in churches, after its sponsor amended her measure to make it more appealing to the full House.
Rep. Beverly Pyle, R-Cedarville, amended her measure to remove a provision that would require churches to post a sign if they didn't want handguns on their property.
Under the change, a church that opts out from allowing handguns could notify members any way it pleases — through a sign, an announcement during services or a notice in a church bulletin, for example.
The House Judiciary Committee — which passed the measure last week — agreed to the amended version Tuesday. The bill now goes to the full House
