Rio de Janeiro's mayor is slamming an Italian clothing company's new ad campaign, which shows men dressed as Rio police officers roughly arresting or molesting women.

Mayor Eduardo Paes told Rio's O Globo newspaper Sunday that he may petition the Italian embassy to ask the operators of Relish clothing to take down billboards in Italy, which he says are "in bad taste."

Relish has stores in Milan, Bologna and Naples.

One of the ads shows a man in a police uniform wrestling a high-heeled woman to the ground on a Rio beach, handcuffing her and pushing her head into the cobblestones.

Another shows a supposed police officer pushing a woman against a car and putting his hand up her dress.
