ORLANDO, Fla. – Law enforcement authorities say the boyfriend of a woman who fell 16 stories to her death from a Florida hotel balcony has been arrested in Oklahoma on a murder charge.
Deputy U.S. Marshal John Thomas says 27-year-old Justin Speegle was arrested without incident Friday afternoon. His father has some rental property in the area.
Nichole Hammond plunged to her death on Dec. 31 at the Marriott World Center near Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
Speegle had said he went to the balcony, saw she had fallen over and called 911. He was not initially named as a suspect.
Thomas did not have information on the hometowns of Speegle or Hammond.
Duncan is about 80 miles southwest of Oklahoma City.
