Two young teenagers were charged with murder after their mothers noticed a close resemblance between them and suspects pictured in a police sketch and urged them to turn themselves in, The Times-Picayune reported.

New Orleans police distributed the sketches after a popular 39-year-old French Quarter bartender was killed.

The two 15-year-old boys were booked on charges of first-degree murder and attempted armed robbery in the death of Wendy Byrne, the newspaper reported.

Prosecutors will decide whether to prosecute the teenagers as adults or leave the case in the juvenile system.

Police are looking for a third boy, who is also 15, according to The Times-Picayune.

Three young men, including one with a gun, approached Byrne and a friend as they walked in the lower French Quarter and demanded money early Saturday evening, the paper reported.

Police said that although Byrne did not resist, one of the boys fatally shot her and then ran away without her money.

The three boys are also accused of robbing another man minutes earlier.
