DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Pakistan – Two Pakistani intelligence officials say a suspected U.S. missile strike has killed at least three people in northwest Pakistan.
The officials say the men died Thursday when a suspected American drone aircraft fired missiles at a vehicle in the South Waziristan tribal region near the Afghan border.
The officials say they received the information about the attack from their local agents. They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the media.
Other Pakistani officials were not immediately available for comment.
The U.S. has launched dozens of similar attacks in recent years, mostly targeting Taliban and Al Qaeda militants who are believed to be hiding in Pakistan's tribal regions.
