Five employees of a Pittsburgh-area nursing home are being accused of assaulting a 94-year-old woman who was being treated at the facility.

Allegheny County Police say the arrests were made in November when staff at Kane Regional Center in Glen Hazel alerted police to their suspicions that an elderly woman had been assaulted.

Police say they have arrested 46-year-old Danielle Taylor, 35-year-old Shelly Keene, 46-year-old Karen Perry, 30-year-old Shalaya Hatten and 57-year-old Mary Ann Bower.

Allegheny County Executive Dan Onorato says all five suspects were suspended without pay when the investigation began. Once charges were filed, their employment was terminated.
